Organizer: National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Developments
As family-supporting jobs become a rarity, business ownership has increasingly become more relevant as an asset-building strategy for low-income households. Yet low-income households, particularly in communities of color, face significant barriers to starting and sustaining businesses - including struggles to access capital and culturally relevant business counseling. This session will feature organizations from around the country that are implementing innovative programs that build community resilience and wealth through entrepreneurship. An interactive discussion will include sharing of best practices, common challenges and federal policy solutions to support local business development.
