Communities across the country are making homeownership a reality for more people by adopting lasting affordable housing models to achieve their goals. Learn from three different communities as they share the ins and outs of permanently affordable homeownership programs, highlighting their individual housing models, community contexts, and unique points-of-view. Each of the three communities in focus has used shared equity homeownership models in order to enable low and moderate-income community members to purchase homes, while ensuring the lasting affordability of the properties for the greater good of the community. This session will highlight the perspectives of community residents, activists, and Community Land Trust board members at the start-up, expanding, and established phases of their programs’ work.
