Sreoshy finds interest in equitable developments in urban conditions and how it contributes to a culturally sensitive built environment. As the Assistant Vice President of Urban Design in Development at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, she uses her interdisciplinary background in architecture and urban design to understand the complex context of built projects in order to inform research, design, and resolution through promoting visual decision making. Sreoshy holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and has a Masters in Urban Design from M.I.T. Prior to her time with NYCEDC, Sreoshy has practiced architecture with Rafael Vinoly, Dominique Perrault, and Dattner Architects, as well as co-founded a tech-startup called Refynd, a marketplace exclusively for college students.
She loves to travel to unique areas of India (where she was born and brought up) to work with local host communities in developing and participating in equitable urban planning, and design workshops, as well as for travel for leisure to visit her extended family in Kolkata. While not at work, she loves playing with her 8 month old son, Riyan, and take Latin dance classes!
