PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP - Claiming the Torch: Community Organizations Advancing Racial EquityMon, April 15
Chelsea Alger joined the Southwest MN Housing Partnership; a non-profit CDC focused on the affordable housing needs of a rural, 27+ county region; in 2015, bringing 13 years of public sector planning and community development experience. Alger led the “Partnership Art” effort, supported by the ArtPlace CDI grant between 2015 and 2018, and has thoroughly enjoyed exploring ways arts and community development intersect to create more meaningful, sustainable outcomes for communities. Alger has been a rural MN girl her whole life (but for heading to college in Minneapolis) and is grateful for the opportunity to focus energy on those who also make rural MN their home. In her free time she enjoys time with her family and distance running.
