Estella Gonzalez is the Assistant Director of Economic Opportunity at BakerRipley (formerly Neighborhood Centers). She earned her B.A. at the University of Houston and Master’s in Public Administration from Penn State University. Her passion for service and dedication to community development led her to a career in the public sector. After working in both federal and state government, Estella entered the non-profit sector to develop and offer local solutions to combat some of the most difficult challenges faced by low-income communities. In her more than ten years of non-profit work, Estella has occupied various roles – from administrative support, fundraising, and grant writing to direct client work, program development, and management positions. Most recently, she spearheaded the development of BakerRipley’s small business development program and is overseeing its social enterprise projects in the community of Aldine, including a commercial kitchen incubator, co-working space, and café.
