Nefertitti Jackmon has over 20 years of experience in operations, program management and consulting in the nonprofit sector, Jackmon’s diverse skill set and cultural understanding of both black history and the complexities of community engagement are welcomed assets. Jackmon has worked with many community-based groups in Houston and abroad to cultivate, preserve and promote African-American culture.
Jackmon was appointed by Mayor Adler to serve as the co-chair of the Anti-Displacement Task Force, and she is also a representative for the city of Austin with Policy Link All-In Cities Initiative on Displacement. In her short tenure as ED, she has powerfully led Six Square to serve as a visionary player for major projects to preserve, educate and sustain black arts, history and culture in Central East Austin. Most recently, she shared Six Square’s work around cultural preservation at the 48th Annual Convening of the Congressional Black Caucus.
